A Five-mile run starting from Vallabh Sadan situated on the beautiful and scenic Sabarmati Riverfront approaching Riverfront Road, Bata House, Mithakhali Circle, Law Garden, CG Road, Stadium Cross Roads, Sardar Patel Colony Statue, Usmanpura, Ajanta Complex and finally returning to Vallabh Sadan on -8th February 2015 between 6:30 am to 8:30 am.
The teams comprised of atleast four members, each with at least one woman participant for an unbiased participation. 2750 participants from over 57 companies participated in the event and 13 companies extended their support by sponsoring products and services for the participants.
The event began with the flag off by Hasit Kaji, Branch Head – Gujarat and Corporate VP, TCS.
The runner’s contingent was accompanied by a matrix of 8 Motor Bikes and a Pilot Vehicle from Traffic Police, Ahmedabad. Several family members including children joined the participants in support of the cause. Ahmedabad Traffic Police played a key role by closing down all the major and critical junctions from 5.30 AM till 8.30 AM in order to avoid any mishap. This arrangement was well received amongst the participants.
The event saw high levels of competitiveness amongst regular runners and had some thrilling moments during first 3 hydration points. It was a moment of Pride for Team TCS as Dhanyamol TL and Hitendra Gadhvi, two of our associates finished first in both Female and Male categories respectively at the event. All the finishers were greeted and garlanded with Finisher medals by the kids of TCS Family members.
Men : Winner -Hitendra Gadhvi, TCS 1st Runner Up – Luvkhut Gunde, Peregrine Guarding Pvt Ltd 2nd Runner Up – Kamlesh Kantariya, GSPC Group
Women :Winner – Dhanyamol TL, TCS, 48.25.7 1st Runner Up – Shama Mittal, Idea Cellular Ltd 2nd Runner Up- Minal Kulkarni, TCS
Prestigious guests Mr. Shivanand Jha – Hon’ble Commissioner of Police (Ahmedabad) and Dr. Rajdeepsinh Jhala – ACP (Traffic) and Corporate Vice President Mr. Hasit Kaji graced the occasion and distributed various prizes.
Each participating companies had the choice of contributing the prize money to their charity partner of choice; however most of the companies have consented to donate to the TCS Charity partner – Karuna Kare Foundation. First prize for men went to TCS BPS Associate. At the end a total of 1,90,000/- was donated to Karuna Kare Foundation.
